I have always maintained that the readers of Cosy Moments are among the cleverest on the web, but I’m starting to worry that this might not actually be a great compliment.
Here on Substack, people were able to scroll past the inflammatory headline of my last article and understand its argument. I even received a few private messages of support. On other parts of the net, however, my article about multiculturalism was read with the sympathy and comprehension of a Pitbull. I even received messages of mouth-foaming vitriol.
Not only did these readers fail to refute my argument, but they also failed to understand it, partly proving my point that the standards of education in Australia are declining: the average university graduate can’t read foreign languages and can barely read English.
What follows is my response to the criticism I received.
